Equine Ailments - A to Z
Equine Viral Arteritis - a viral disease of the respiratory tract, characterised by conjunctivitis (common name ‘pink eye’), fever, watery nasal discharge, oedema of the eyelids and legs, and of the scrotum in stallions. It can cause abortion in mares, though it usually affects either the very young or the very old.
Modified live vaccines are available in endemic areas, but mortality is low. |
